Sad, but true: I haven’t sewed a stitch since I went back to work in August! So much for my August sewing plans… heh. Whoops. The new semester always does this to me.
I have plans to return, though, with the Crazy Cat Lady Sewing Challenge. This fabric is on its way to me now:
I would like it to become a dress with a fitted bodice and pleated skirt. I have yet to try my hand at pleats, and I have yet to find a woven dress pattern that I love. Admittedly, I haven’t made many attempts – most recently, Tilly’s Megan dress. After 4 iterations, that one just didn’t become my favorite.
My current plan is to try McCall’s M6953 in view A. It’s supposedly “easy” and comes with separate cup size pattern pieces (so no FBA, woohoo!)
The Crazy Cat Lady Challenge runs through the end of October. I may try to sneak in a wearable muslin of the pattern before I cut into the awesome cat fabric, but with my work schedule lately, that might be a little ambitious. Fingers crossed!
